Creative Journey

About me

Hi, I’m Radhika Kohli, a graphic designer and artist from Dehradun, India, currently based in London. I’m studying Graphic Design Communication at UAL Chelsea College of Arts and specialize in branding, typography, and digital illustration.

Growing up, I loved art and was always drawn to creativity in different forms. Over time, that passion turned into a deeper interest in design and how visuals can communicate ideas and emotions.

Fine Art: My experience with realism and portrait study

"This is a portrait of the legendary actor Morgan Freeman. As a child, I was deeply influenced by his performance in Now You See Me. There was something about his commanding presence and mysterious aura that really captivated me. I tried to capture that sense of fascination and intrigue through this piece."  This work is made on a 35x17 inch canvas and features painting techniques using acrylics.

I really love this project because it beautifully combines history with a modern twist. The idea actually came to me during History class, while we were learning about Native Americans. I found the thought of people from earlier times—long before technology existed—taking a selfie to be both amusing and heartwarming. That little spark of imagination is what inspired me to create this.

I was inspired by Salvador Dali’s surrealist style when creating this piece. I took it up as a personal challenge for my Fine Art finals while we were researching different artists. One of my favorite elements is the way the fish wraps around the tree—it adds a dreamlike quality that I really enjoyed playing with. The sun rays hitting just right really tie the whole composition together.

STAMPED: A PASSPORT PROJECT

What it takes to create a zine

This was one of the most challenging projects I’ve worked on.
The brief was simple: choose an object with deep emotional significance and create a poster zine around it. But translating personal meaning into compelling visuals wasn’t easy. After multiple iterations, redesigns, and layout experiments, this is the final result.

I’ve featured some of my strongest work from the project here. Through the process, I learned a lot about designing with intention, the importance of storytelling, and how emotion and detail can elevate design beyond aesthetics. Of course, I also sharpened my technical skills—but it’s the conceptual growth I value most.

Molecules and Mayhem: Testing your creative limits

Welcome to Radhika's work's Portfolio

This project was part of my university coursework focused on Typography and Editorial Design. It was divided into two sections.

In the first section, we were asked to create a typographic poster addressing a social or cultural issue we felt strongly about. I chose to highlight the impact of fast fashion and developed the tagline "The Devil Wears Zara" to convey my message.

The second part of the project was a group assignment, where we had to merge three different interests into a cohesive concept. Our chosen themes—Biology, Adrenaline, and Zoots—resulted in a unique and engaging blend. Together, we wrote an article that explored this fusion and designed both a poster and a magazine spread to support the content.

You can view all the final pieces in the slideshow below.
